Overview

This button action adds a Find Closest Rep button that could help you optimize drive times and routing by displaying the distance between your available resources and a specific event.

Once distances are calculated, you can improve scheduling by assigning the closest resource to the event:

Prerequisites

This code requires the installation of the map-core-main-functions.js foundational library from the Map Core custom action bundle.

What’s included in this code bundle

• show-distance-to-resource.js – Shows the distance of each resource shown to the specified event. Useful to determine what resource is the closest to an event location.

About This Release

We’re excited to release Map Core custom action bundle, giving you an early look at powerful new mapping capabilities within DayBack. This code bundle provides routing, distance calculations, drive times, and geocoding—offering a foundation for users who want to start working with these tools right away. If you’d like mapping features enabled in your DayBack deployment, just let us know—we’ll turn them on so you can experiment with maps configuration in draft mode before rolling out your maps deployment to your users. Please note that maps require DayBack’s Plus plan, which is already included if you’re a Salesforce user.

Since this is the first time maps have been built into the calendar, we’re still refining behaviors and determining which workflows should be built-in versus customized. If you have specific needs for maps or distance-based scheduling, get in touch—your feedback can help shape the future of these features and ensure they work seamlessly in your workflow.
