DayBack’s calendar platform now includes maps in Salesforce so you can make better scheduling decisions.

DayBack now has built-in access to distance and drive-time calculations, so it’s easier to create scheduling workflows that consider location. Scheduling in DayBack makes your invisible constraints visible, and location is often an important constraint.

Find the Closest Resource

When trying to assign an unscheduled event, DayBack can find whose closest. This can include your drive-or-fly criteria and ranking resources by who’d have the easiest time getting to a customer.

Routing

Plot a driver’s day or week and see changes in the route as you reassign or reschedule appointments in the calendar. More route screenshots here: Drive Times in Salesforce Calendars.

Showing Customers or Trucks on the Map

DayBack can render any records that contain addresses on the map in Salesforce. That includes customers or the current location of your fleet. Filter the map so you can focus on specific segments of your customer map.

Fast and Intuitive Maps in Salesforce Mobile

The map works great on Salesforce mobile, supporting routing and distance math just like on desktop. (Since there is no “shift click” on mobile, you can only view one route at a time and currently can’t compare two routes like you can on desktop.)

Add Customizable Maps to Your DayBack

Many DayBack deployments already include map or distance workflows built using custom actions. Those customizations will continue to work with this new version. In fact, much of the work in this new release is to make building those kinds of actions easier. Many of the behaviors shown above are enabled with custom actions we’ll publish to give users and developers a head start in creating their own location-based workflows.

The new map and distance features are currently in preview for Salesforce and FileMaker data sources. Preview is a semi-public release that lets customers start using maps as we continue to release new features and improve the documentation.

If you’d like the new mapping features enabled in your DayBack, just ask. We’ll turn these features on under the hood, and you can then enable maps for your users or tinker with it yourself in draft settings mode before publishing it. Once we have enabled the map for you, check out the Map Core Extensions to add map and distance behaviors to your DayBack.
